Wow! What a year 2017 has been!

Many of my clients know this has been the first year I have run my business full-time. But for those who didn’t, I was only doing photography Friday-Sunday for the last few years, while working at Gold Coast City Council full time until Christmas 2016.

I was quickly burning the candle at both ends, so gave my notice and threw myself 200% into my photography business for 2017.

This year, I  pretty much booked anything and everything I could, determined to make sure I made enough to support my son, pay the mortgage and keep my bills paid and debts low. I was taking any job and not saying ‘no’ to any last minute bookings, even though it meant I was working 20 days straight at a time, working ‘til midnight and beyond most nights to try and stay on top of everything, and my head above water.

In 2018, I am determined not to let that happen again. The last 12 months have given me a great benchmark for what my revenue, business expenses (insurances, software licenses, equipment expenses etc) and after doing a detailed analysis of the cost of doing business have given me a much better idea of where I’m at.

So….I have decided to make some changes to the structure and price of my packages in order to make sure I achieve a better work-life balance, but also to better provide my clients with a greater range of options to choose from. There will be something for those on a budget and something for those who can afford to spend a bit more or upgrade their package.

This does mean that I will be increasing my prices, but what you will notice also is that I have also changed some of the products that will be available in each package, after I have found some amazing new suppliers.

2017 has been a great year to set the bar from and to take stock of where I am going and what I want to achieve next year, both personally and professionally.

I have set some new goals for where I want to take my business in 2018. I have learned so much and believe I have made some big leaps in the quality of the product and service I am offering my clients. So please watch this space when the new packages and pricing structure is revealed.

But it certainly would never have been possible without the support of every single one of my clients, many of them return clients, but also so many new ones! I am forever grateful for you letting me into your new little lives so that I can give you some beautiful photos that you will cherish forever.

This year has seen me photograph :
